PALS has no authority to perform animal control. Unfortunately, this means we have no authority to remove animals from abusive situations, or to retrieve strays. But we are 100% committed to helping animals in need however we can.

If you know of an animal in an abusive situation, or you see a stray, you should call Grinnell Police (641 236 5679). The City of Grinnell pays the Jasper County Animal Rescue League in Newton to pick up strays, as they have the resources to do animal control.

But if you don't know what to do with an animal, you can always get in touch with us for help, and you can also contact us anonymously to report an animal in danger via our website:
